Checkout| Gilmore’s Sea Foods, founded by Richard (Lefty) Gilmore, opened in 1958 on Front Street in Downtown Bath as a small fish market where local folks came to purchase a quality fish products at a reasonable price. We outgrew that store and moved in 1978 to our present location on Court Street. In 2003, the fish marketand grounds were renovated and enlarged, and the popular Gilmore’s Take-Out was added. Lefty’s sons, Kevin and Benson, began working in the business as young boys, and they took over when Lefty retired. Today, Ben runs the business, assisted by his daughter and sons. Gilmore’s Sea Foods has become one of the most well-known seafood markets in New England. In 2009, it was selected by Down East Magazine as one of Maine’s Best Seafood Markets! We handle wholesale and retail sales and ship seafood anywhere within the United States. Ben’s motto is, “If you can’t make both ends ‘meat’, make one end fish!”. To contact us:
